Benefits of Human-Centric Lighting

Lighting has the potential to transform our well-being and the atmosphere of a space if properly configured. Studies show that tunable white lighting, which adjusts dynamically to the time of the day, affects circadian rhythm and helps us wake up easier in the morning by feeling more alert and energized.  In the hospitality industry, it can also help travelers deal with jet lag mitigation to adapt more quickly to their new location.

LumiFi's software platform delivers intuitive lighting experiences that adapt to a person’s mood, activity, or the time of day.  A recent study found that the physical environment of a hotel lobby (style, layout, colors, and lighting) significantly affects brand prestige, which leads to social value, brand attachment, and brand loyalty. Research also indicates a significant link between lighting and employee concentration and productivity. The power of smart lighting goes beyond illumination—imagine what it can do to enhance the overall experience of your guests, and improve the wellness and performance of your employees.

Tunable White

Research suggests that automatically adjusting the color temperature and intensity of light to synchronize with the natural circadian rhythm can create an optimal environment and help our bodies; by simulating natural daylight, melatonin production is suppressed. By simulating twilight and nighttime, melatonin is increased. In hotel settings, it can reduce jet lag for guests so they’re more alert and productive during the day.

Astrological Clock

LumiFi's software dynamically identifies the property location and automatically syncs sunrise and sunset information to the system. This allows the user to define set times relative to astrological events. For example, a user can schedule lights to automatically turn on 30 minutes before sunset.

Energy Efficiency & Green

New Green Engagement and Sustainability programs support and encourage buildings that offer dimming and automation to reduce the energy foot print. Dimming Automation which changes the light levels accordingly to the time of the day and adjust brightness can reduce up to an additional 50% of its ongoing energy bill. In addition, dimming increases the life span of an LED by a factor 2x to 3x lowering bulb replacement and maintentance cost.
